I’ll be honest from the start — I’m not a fan of buffet dinners. They’re usually chaotic, average food, and more about quantity than quality. But after reading consistently positive reviews on Trip.com, and wanting to experience Bangkok from one of its tallest buildings, we decided to give the Baiyoke Sky Tower dinner a chance.
And I’m so glad we did.
What drew us in was the balance. Many rooftop venues in Bangkok come with strict dress codes, high entry fees just to access the views, or extremely expensive food and drink once you’re up there. This felt different.
- For $54 NZD per person, we got:
- Access to the 77th floor observation deck
- Entry to the 88th floor outdoor revolving platform
- And a buffet dinner that turned out to be genuinely exceptional

Arrival & First Impressions
We booked through Trip.com and the process was easy. On arrival, we simply showed our booking email and exchanged it for physical tickets. From there, it was straight into the elevator and up to the 77th floor for our first panoramic views over Bangkok.
This alone felt worth the effort — seeing just how vast and alive the city is from above.

Choosing the Best Dinner Time
- There are two dining sessions:
- 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
- 7:15 pm – 9:15 pm
- We chose the early session, and I’d make the same choice again for these reasons:
- You see Bangkok in full daylight
- You watch the sun set
- You experience the city lit up at night
An added bonus is that everything felt freshly cooked, with no sense of food having been sitting around.
Before heading to dinner, we spent time exploring the observation areas, taking photos and enjoying the surprisingly fun setup. There are themed photo spots everywhere — angel wings, tuk-tuks, mannequin boards you can pose in, love swings and even a hot air balloon basket. It’s playful without feeling tacky, and you can take as many photos as you like.

The Buffet Dinner – A Real Surprise
You make your way to the dining room in your own time, but it’s worth noting that the room clears promptly at 7:00 pm for the next sitting.
We were seated by the window, and the views were incredible. The staff were warm, professional and genuinely attentive — not rushed or transactional.
And then there was the food. This was not your average buffet.
- The layout flows beautifully:
- Pizza, spring rolls and casual favourites
- Soups and fresh salads
- Prawn and salmon ceviches
- A proper steak section
- Cooked vegetables
- A seafood section that honestly stopped us in our tracks
- Beef and salmon Wellington
- Multiple salmon dishes
- Large Asian food sections
- Sushi
- Fresh fruit and desserts
- Pancakes made to order
- Drinks are included too — unlimited soft drinks, teas, coffees and hot chocolate. Alcohol is very reasonably priced:
- Cocktails around 150–200 baht
- Wine about 200 baht per glass
We spent around an hour and a half grazing slowly, enjoying the views and taking our time. Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt average.

The 88th Floor Revolving Viewpoint
After dinner, we headed up to the 88th floor outdoor revolving platform — and this is where the experience really peaks.
The platform gives you 360-degree views over Bangkok, and one of the best things is that it’s enclosed with a cage rather than glass.
- That means:
- No glare
- No reflections
- No shadow lines on your photos
We stayed up there for two full rotations, just soaking it in. It was surprisingly peaceful, especially after the buzz of the dining room.
Afterwards – A Lively End to the Night
Once back on the ground floor, the atmosphere completely shifts. The streets around the tower are alive with market stalls, and prices are refreshingly cheap. We wandered for a bit before heading back to our accommodation, letting the night wind down naturally.
Is Baiyoke Sky Tower Dinner Worth It?
Absolutely. Without hesitation.
It ended up being one of the highlights of our time in Bangkok, and that genuinely surprised me — especially given my usual feelings about buffets.
- If you want:
- Incredible views
- A relaxed but polished dining experience
- Fair pricing
- No dress code stress
- And a full evening that feels complete
This is an experience I’d happily recommend.
